Artist Statement As an artist, I am inspired by some of the world's most beautiful and exotic places. Many of my photographs and paintings focus on places from my heritage countries of Brazil, Italy, and Portugal. My cityscapes mingle color and soul, and aim to transport you close and far. I hope the journey is special because it is biased by love for my subjects. In my work, I create a geography that is familiar yet different, real yet transcending, personal yet universal. Although I have moved in an academic environment most of my life, I am self-trained as an artist. During the academic years, I spent a considerable amount of time living, working and studying abroad.
